Until then, I'll continue doing what I do best. Like I said before, nothing on earth will stop me from seeing S2 when it comes out. I give this the Buy out of sheer respect for the Kanokon universe itself, even though this title was sub par at best. This OVA had some fun interactions, but was held down by really weak substance and story. All in all, I had fun watching Kouta and Chizuru again. It wasn't a smart move on their part to use it on a two ep OVA.

They should've saved that sort of crap for the full season where they'll need filler material to move things along. Not because they aren't ecchi, but because they were miserably slow and attempted a simplistic small scale romance. Aside from Kouta and Chizuru, most of the parts dealing with the support characters were as boring as can be. The smoke censor cover-ups were really uncalled for seeing how this is an ecchi OVA. There were plenty of moments overall where things could've gone softcore, but they kept it surprisingly clean, unfortunately. Chizuru's flowing noodle presentation was fun, though Kouta completely punked out like always and the mother put on a 'show' that had Chizuru beat in every department. The episodes themselves were nothing to be proud of either. The art style is in all respects - normal. Chizuru still wants every ounce of Kouta like usual and the summer heat is no match for her burning desire. Things are very slow to progress, but I see no need for high expectations from OVAs of this caliber. We see the gang again and the pleasant memories all come rushing back. Kanokon is back again -OVA style- as we gear up in preparation for the new upcoming season (C.A.s are the best). Kanokon: Manatsu no Daishanikusai A tale of an erotic summer and simple romances. The only reason for watching this OVA might be the cold treatment that class rep Akane gives to Tayura, which alone doesn't legitimate a "Watch" rating here. Unfortunately we don't get a lot of Character development here as these scenes are split up between too many irrelevant side roles.

I can handle a summer holidays filler with not much story rather well as it can focus on the small things that flesh out characters (at least I prefer it to a series trying overly hard to tell a story and failing at that). Technical attributes are much like the series (whose marvelous ED song is missing here, what a pity), so no high ratings here as well.
